Inside SWT (Java Sig)
Time: Tuesday 1st March
Missed the start....
Mainly talks about SWT widget set, a project on java supported by IBM.
The speaker mostly stressed on power of native widget sets (written in C etc.) as opposed to swing(written in java): performance benefits etc.
Comparitive studies etc., integration of swing and swt.
2nd presentation:
WTP or Web tools;
These server tools allow developer to define, configure and publish web services
Have debugging tools including TCP/IP monitor, web service monitor etc.
WSDL editor , xdoclet support
Showed a demo on how to create a web project.
Funny thing; jvm kept on crashing during demo :)
Overall a nice free package integrated with eclipse. mostly done by IBM folks in Toronto & Raleigh.
Rel 1.0 of product expected in July, with eclipse 3.1
